GuitarTricks.com offers an almost endless amount of lessons. The videos are very good quality and the lessons that don't have video have audio samples. Each lesson is laid out a little differently depending on the instructor that is giving the lessons. One of our favorite features included with many of the lessons is the overlay of a graphic that shows you what note is being played and when to play that note. We haven't seen any other site that offers this and it can be very helpful when trying to learn a really tuff lick.

Each lesson contains an "info bar" which is a graphical explanation of the lesson key, level of difficulty and other useful information. You can also switch from the tab being displayed as plain text or flash text. This is really cool because you can either copy the text or use the flash text to actually enlarge the image.

Guitar Tricks Info Bar

As of the writing of this review there were 124 Guitar Theory Lessons, 262 Guitar Chord Lessons, 245 Guitar Exercises Lessons and 110 Guitar Studio Lessons.

One of the more impressive aspects of GuitarTricks.com is not how many lessons they offer but the detail that the lessons get into. In the techniques section alone students can find lessons for the following topics:

Alternate Picking, B-Bender Usage, B-Bender Emulation, Bending - Blues, Bending - Country, Bending - Rock, Classical Fingerpicking, Double Stop, Fingerpicking, Hammer-Ons, Harmonics Overview, Harmonics - Pinched, Harmonics - Natural, Hybrid Picking, Legato, Muting: Left Hand, Muting: Right Hand, Pedal Tone, Popping, Pull-offs, Rolls, Slide Guitar, Slap Guitar, Sweeping Picking, Tapping, Tapping - Touch technique, Tremolo, Vibrato and more.

We give GuitarTricks.com 5 out of 5 stars. The shear amount of content and value of the membership for the low monthly cost makes this a smart choice for anyone wanting to learn the guitar online.

GuitarTricks.com Review:

I played around learning guitar for about 5 years. I've bought books, had a couple of live instructors, bought DVD's -- you name much all the stuff I bought was opened once and then shelved. I propably spent $200-300 books on stuff I never used I decide to join Guitar Tricks -- for $10 bucks a month how could I say no? Though I wish some of the videos were of better quality the overall vibe of the site is EXCELLENT! I learned some excellent tricks and progressions. Even picked up some basic stuff from their beginner course which I had skipped when I first started playing. I also like the variety of instructors from around the globe -- made the experience more $10 a month I get more stuff than I can watch -- and 1 year of GuitarTricks is cheaper than all of my books and DVD's combined.

I recently started playing the guitar and found this website via google. I joined the same night after learning so much even from the free beginner lessons. It is structured very intuitively and i find it a fantastic way to learn! Full marks!

: I have been playing guitar for a long time, trying to anyway. I found guitartricks not a few months ago and already i see a drastic improvement. I am learning complete songs, not just riffs. I am also really get a grasp of the neck, patterns, and pretty soon I will consider myself a real player and not a "tabber."

GuitarTricks.com Review:

GuitarTricks is the real deal in on-line guitar instruction. There is something for every one from basic techniques to the most advanced materials. Styles range from blues, metal and rock to jazz, country and classical. To me, the best feature of all though is the support and the community. The folks at GuitarTricks are very, very helpful and I have yet to see a question go unanswered. I heartily recommend GT.

Not only are the lessons varied and good, but the ability to interact with the tutors makes this the best tuition site I've found on the net.

GuitarTricks.com Review:

I've been playing guitar for over 35 yrs, and, after a long layoff, have come back to playing. I was googling around on some things on theory and got a hit on guitartricks. I didn't realize I had joined a couple of years ago, but things got in the way and another break came. Now, I have more time to play. Even as a non-paying member, there's a wealth of information from the members and instructors. I elected to be a paying member to have access to all the lessons and content. I can say with certainty there is something for everyone. From a cold beginner to advanced. The members and instructors are incredibly knowledgable and helpful. For $10 and change a month, I'd say this site is a bargain. Even though I'm somewhere between intermediate and advanced, there's still a wealth of information to learn from. The video lessons are down-loadable, so you can access those anytime, anywhere as long as you have a computer. Posts on the forum are often thought provoking, and, again, the members and instructors are more than willing to help. You can get opinions on anything from gear (there's an area for members to post their own gear reviews), to theory, to you name it. Extremely comprehensive in content, extremely knowledgable members and instructors- what more can you ask for. There's even a resident guitar tech you can pose questions to (a great help to me when I dinged my 1975 Telecaster's fretboard.) I don't know any player who would not benefit from this site. If you love playing the guitar, want to learn a bit more but constrained by time limitations (or not), this is the place to be.  5 stars all the way!

GuitarTricks.com Review:

If you are just picking up a guitar for the first time and aren't sure which end is which, you may find a use for this site. A bunch of 2 minute vids of little use and mp3's with tabs. You might want to learn how to read tabs before you plunk down your 10 bucks, they are however only a few riffs and licks.

GuitarTricks.com Review:

Singed up to GuitarTricks.com about 2 months ago. So far I thinks it's great. I consider myself an intermediate level player and I have found the lessons very helpful. I think it's a great site but I wish some of the videos were bigger in size. I would recommend guitartricks.com to anyone looking for an affordable way to learn some really cool licks.

GuitarTricks.com Review:

This is incredible. You can find a lot of learning material online for free and I have learned a lot about playing the guitar that way. One of my favorite sites has been guitartricks.com. I signed up and for only $10 bucks a month it's awesome. I haven't tried any of the other sites that make you pay but I would be surprised if anyone could match the amount of content this site offers. Shell out the $10 a month membership fee it's worth it.
